We work with people-
in schools, in communities, in hospitals and other health care
settings and can offer one or two day activity workshops for local
authorities.
It is recognised that our work can meet government and local authority
initiatives to address common issues such as social inclusion;
cultural diversity; lifelong learning and diversionary therapy
and we will structure specific projects to meet these criteria
as required.
We
adhere to strict Health & Safety guidelines in our working
practice and in the artwork we create and all artists are fully
insured.
Southminster
Mural
Castle
View School Project
An inspiring project to design and create
an illuminated
ceramic screen wall for the front
of the school,
working with Year Nine's (13, 14 year olds).
White
Notley School Project
We
designed this mural based on the drawings of the subject of
the local environment.
Each
child took an active role in creating the large glass mosaic
mural with parents, teachers and other members of the
community taking part and learning mosaic techniques.
White
Bridge School Project
An
exciting project to transform a bleak stairwell at this 1950s
primary school into the interior of a 'space rocket' with seven
'windows' into space.
Parents, grandparents, staff and teachers joined the 200 5th and
6th Year students to create this stunning interior using a combination
of mosaics, ceramic elements, metal and paint.
'The
Super Square of Stanford'
Short-listed for Essex County Council's Best Public Art Award
2003.
This huge ceramic relief 'map' of the catchment area around the
infant school in Stanford-le-Hope contains over 200 'houses' buildings
and local landmarks made by the 225 infant children ranging in
age from 4 to 7 years old.
Tyrells
Entrance Canopy Project.
The
Tyrells Centre is an 'older persons resource centre' with a host
of facilities for older people that also houses a young carers
support service and most recently an outpatients department of
Southend Hospital
An
innovative project in its own right, we
were
called in to design a pilot art project for The Tyrells that would
involve the community, promoting positive attitudes to ageing
and developing better relationships between generations. An inspiring
artwork was desired as the outcome that would lead to a take up
of further art projects within the Centre.
The Canopy was designed based on 'The Tree of Life' and will contain
images based on workshops with four schools in the local area
including a special needs school and sixth form college and from
ideas workshops with the Centre users and public consultations
with the local community.
The Canopy will be illuminated and unveiled complete with the
ceramic tiles and mosaics in September 2003.
It
is recognised that our work can meet government and local authority
initiatives to address common issues such as social inclusion,
cultural diversity, lifelong learning and diversionary therapy
and we will structure specific projects to meet these criteria
as required.

Read Maths Sculpture Garden
This
project evolved through the
need
to create emphasis for an intended 'maths sculpture garden'. We
worked with the maths teacher to link art with maths, based on
'Fibonacci's' theory of the perfect spiral! The brick piers were
designed to display the eight panels of unglazed ceramic and pebble
mosaics that were made with many of the primary school's pupils.
This image shows the project prior to completion of the flower
beds by the school.
At
the time of preparing this site we have a number of large community
and school projects in action and development including the construction
of a 'maths sculpture garden' involving landscaping and structural
elements with mosaics in ceramic and glass.
We will regularly update this site so please check back from time
to time.
